MTK Flashing Guide
Complete tutorial for flashing MediaTek devices using SP Flash Tool
Important Warning
Flashing firmware can brick your device if done incorrectly. Backup your data and ensure battery is charged above 50%. Proceed at your own risk.
What You'll Need
- MTK firmware file (.zip or extracted)
- SP Flash Tool (latest version)
- MTK USB Drivers installed
- USB cable (original preferred)
- Windows PC (7/8/10/11)
Step 1: Install MTK USB Drivers
- Download MTK USB VCOM Drivers
- Extract and run
InstallDriver.exe - Follow installation wizard
- Restart computer if required
Step 2: Download & Extract Files
- Download your device firmware from MobiFirms
- Extract firmware .zip file
- Download SP Flash Tool
- Extract SP Flash Tool to a folder
Step 3: Launch SP Flash Tool
- Navigate to SP Flash Tool folder
- Run
flash_tool.exeas Administrator - Wait for tool to load
Step 4: Load Scatter File
- Click "Scatter-loading" button
- Navigate to extracted firmware folder
- Select the scatter file (e.g.,
MT6765_Android_scatter.txt) - Click Open
- Tool will load all partition files automatically
Tip: Scatter file usually contains "scatter" in filename and has .txt extension
Step 5: Select Flash Mode
Download Only
Recommended for most users
- Flashes firmware while preserving IMEI
- Safer option
- Use this unless you have IMEI issues
Format All + Download
Use with caution
- Completely wipes device
- May erase IMEI (can cause network issues)
- Use only if device is severely damaged
Step 6: Configure Options
- DA DL All With Chksum: Check this (recommended)
- Download Agent: Leave default (MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin)
Step 7: Power Off Device
- Turn off your phone completely
- Remove battery (if removable)
- Wait 10 seconds
- Reinsert battery (if removed)
- Do NOT turn on device
Step 8: Start Flashing
- Click "Download" button in SP Flash Tool
- Wait for "Please connect USB cable" message
- Connect phone to PC via USB
- Tool will detect device and start flashing automatically
Progress Indicators
- Yellow bar: Flashing in progress
- Green checkmark: Flash successful!
- Red cross: Flash failed (see troubleshooting)
Step 9: Complete & Reboot
- Wait for green checkmark and "Download OK" message
- Disconnect USB cable
- Press and hold Power button to turn on device
- First boot may take 5-10 minutes (be patient)
Common Errors & Solutions
Causes: Wrong firmware, corrupted file, hardware issue
Solution: Download firmware again, try different USB port, check device hardware

Solution: Reinstall MTK drivers, try different USB cable, use USB 2.0 port, disable antivirus temporarily
Solution: Click "Yes" to continue. This is normal when flashing different ROM versions
If Device Becomes Bricked
- Try flashing again with "Format All + Download" mode
- Use correct firmware for your exact device model
- Seek professional help if hardware is damaged
