eMMC/UFS Dumping Guide
Professional chip-level read/write with UFi Box, EasyJTAG Plus & Flash F64
Professional Level Warning
This is advanced hardware-level work. Requires professional tools, skills, and experience. Risk of permanent device damage. Not for beginners.
About eMMC/UFS Dumping
Direct chip reading/writing bypasses software to access memory chips directly. Common use cases:
- Dead boot / hard bricked devices
- IMEI restoration and network unlock (FRP/MDM removal)
- Data recovery and full chip backup/restore
Tools Overview
UFi Box
Popular, affordable, supports eMMC ISP and UFS
EasyJTAG Plus
Professional grade, JTAG support, advanced features
Flash F64
Optimized for MTK/Chinese brands, cost‑effective
Required Equipment
- UFi Box / EasyJTAG Plus / Flash F64
- ISP cables/adapters for your tool
- Regulated DC power supply
- Multimeter
- Pinout diagrams for your device
General Process (All Tools)
Step 1: Identify Test Points
- Find eMMC/UFS pinout for your model
- Locate test points on motherboard
- Use schematic if available
Step 2: Connect Tool
- Power off device, remove battery if possible
- Connect ISP pins: VCC, GND, CLK, CMD, D0
- Use proper voltage (1.8V or 3.3V)
Step 3: Read Dump
- Launch software, detect chip
- Read full dump or needed partitions
- Save backup
Step 4: Modify/Write
- Edit with hex editor if needed
- Write back and verify
- Disconnect and test
UFi Box: eMMC ISP & UFS
eMMC ISP Read/Write
- Connect UFi ISP cable to test points
- Open UFi software → eMMC tab
- Click Detect → Read All to backup
- To write: load dump → Write All
UFS Read/Write
- Connect UFS adapter
- Select UFS tab → Detect UFS
- Select partition/full dump → Read/Write
EasyJTAG Plus
Professional Features
- JTAG for damaged chips
- Advanced recovery
- Multiple connection methods
Process similar to UFi but with more options and higher success rate on difficult devices.
Flash F64
Optimized for MTK and Chinese brand devices. Similar ISP method with specialized software.
Common Use Cases
- Read full dump
- Locate IMEI/NVRAM partitions
- Edit with correct IMEI
- Write back and verify
- Read userdata
- Delete FRP/MDM lock files
- Write modified partition
- Read donor dump
- Write to dead device
- Restore original IMEI
Safety Tips
- Always backup before writing
- Use correct voltage from datasheet
- Verify connections with multimeter
- Mind polarity; wrong power kills chips
- Practice on donor boards first
Troubleshooting
- Chip not detected: Check wiring, try different ISP cable, verify voltage
- Read errors: Clean test points, improve contact, check for damaged chip
- Write failed: Try JTAG, check write protection
- Won't boot after write: Restore original dump, verify partition integrity
